Lotte van Raalte: Khayelitsha

  • Dutch photographer Lotte van Raalte introduces us to Thusile Herman Celesi, a forty-nine year old chef in Khayelitsha, Cape Town. Touched by his passion for food ('cooking is in my blood') and love of his town ('the people are supportive, caring and kind'), Lotte returned several times to photograph Thusile and feast on stawe pap, steam bread and chakalaka stew.
